Career Path as Soul Path

Julie Ann Schrader's career path has evolved over three decades of following her heart's calling. She began as an Expressive Arts counselor in an acute care psychiatric facility and also at a developmental center. "A firm foundation for the work developed over those early years. I learned to set clear boundaries, hold compassionate space and find humor in almost every situation."

Since then, Julie has held a variety of positions, including years in massage therapy work, energy healing, and has developed her own style of subtle healing work. In addition to her formal education, a wealth of life experiences have honed her spirit. Julie's approach is respectful, deep, and at times playful.

She holds a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Expressive Arts, a Reiki Master Teacher Certification, an Intuitive Hypnotherapy License, and she is an ordained Interfaith Minister by the Association for the Integration of the Whole Person. Julie is a California State licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

Parallel to her pursuit of psychology, Julie has followed her passion for the arts. As a singer, songwriter, poet, and most recently a fiction writer, Julie values writing as a therapeutic tool. Julie has worked with her dreams since her teenage years, and incorporates this knowledge into her work with clients.

Julie has worked at the Institute for Health & Healing in Marin and San Francisco as a body-mind specialist for clients with life-threatening illness. She also held a position as Mind Body Consultant with the Integrative Medicine and Spirituality Program at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco.

Currently Julie maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Sonoma, CA. at the Center for the Healing Arts, and she teaches Mind-Body Medicine classes, Couples Communication, and Anger Management with the Kaiser Permanente Health Education department.
